Fun row + Christmas Dinner with old Friends.

The last few days was one of the best in 2007.

First of al is the fun row at Kallang river on the 23rd of Dec. I must thank all those who took the time and effort to turn up for the fun row along Kallag river and thank the heavens for the great weather. It really brought back memories of days where rowing still had meaning and the team was really like a family. I would like to thank YZ for all the hardwork and time taken to organize the fun row. The lunch, "Lah Teh" and shopping after the row still retained its magic and it was great being able to find time to sit down and have a nice chat with friends i haven't meet for a long time. I hope that in 2008, we will be able to find more time and situations to come together for such nice gathering.

24th Dec was Christmas eve and we had our christmas gathering as usaual at XH's house but ths year the group was smaller with LY, SH, CY, DW and KS not around. Other than that, the food was still great and we still had lots of fun with the stupid "Cooking Mama" and our silly antics. This year we broke our record and satyed the latest! It was like almost 2a.m. when we lft XH's house! Thankyou XH for hosting us year after year after year and may you find ur desired partner in 2008! :)

After tons of chocolates, turkeys, sweets, photos and presents its time to get back to reality! I gotta lose weight! I must have gained at least 3k.g. from all the food. I had to force myself to go for 2 hrs Body Combat today to burn off some of those carbs and fats. Losing weight is definitely going to feature high in my todo list in 2008.

Its almost time to say goodbye to 2007 and hi to 2008. Lets all hope that 2008 will be a better year for all. :)

Back for the weekend!

Hi all,

Its been a week since i have blogged. Last week was the first part of my ICT, spent a total of 5 days with the people that i spent almost 2 years of my NSF days with... almost 6 years ago. How time flies indeed. It was nice meeting my old platoon mates again but almost everyone looks "rounder" and paler which was in stark contrast to the the NSFs days where everyone was a lot more trim and tanned. There was the usual talk about work and who got married, who already have children and whose wife has just delivered as usual and for those who knew that i was from DB, they asked if i knew any of the 5 that was involved in the unfortunate accident.

After the catching up on the first day, the remaining days were spent doing our IPPT, route march and refreshing our skills like motorbike riding and usage of the equipments that has not changed a bit since the day i ORDed (which is quite 'amazing' considering that its close to a decade since i ORDed.) . Yesterday was our route march and its been a REALLY long time since the platoon did that and ofcourse with all the load some of my friends could not take it and fell back after a few KMs, but everyone was really encouraging and in the end everyone made it back in 1 piece. Next week is gonna be more 'Siong' as we brace ourselves for more challenging trainings. Now i am back to relax for the weekend. :)

Ok, enuff about my ICT, i think i gotta draw up a list of stuff to buy for this year end. So here it is:
1. New pair of running shoes. Really need a good pair to cushion all the impact of my runs.
2. Re-encase my amulet which got soaked in my sweat when i went incamp. Gonna make the casing waterproof this time round.
3. Stuff for mummy and Daddy. Still have no idea what to buy for mum, but aiming the anti-snoring pillow from OSIM for daddy so that he can sleep better.
4. New clothes ??? I am not so sure about this, i having less and less time for myself these days and even when i have time i hardly go anywhere else other than the gym. I might KIV this till next year.
5. Gift for my friend who will be leaving for thailand next year.

Guess, that's it. It only about less than 10 items but with the inflation and holiday season around, i will not be surprised that it burns off about 1/2 my bonus or so. BUT, on a better note, its my very first BONUS! YAY! After a freaking horrible time in my first company that i left without my gratituity (cos it was so bad the $$ did not looks significant enough for me to stay on) so this is the first i am getting my bonus and this new job is like tons better than the last one. =)

I gtg now, I've got a packed December filled with fun-rows, wedding dinner, dinner and lunch with old friends that i have had little time to catch up with and i am going to my friend's Hens' night tonight (Really dunno what they are planning to do, but i think its gonna be just a simple dinner and drink.). To anyone reading this, please take care and see ya! =)

My Marathon

Ok, so i din go for the Standard Chartered Marathon this year. Anyway my knees are really getting quite bad even after 6 km at my usual speed of about 1/2 hour i am starting to like limp a bit after my runs. Guess its clear that my days of challenging myself to continousely improve on my 2.4 timings are numbered.

I woke up at about 5.45 a.m. this morning. Changed, had a little breakfast and had to head for Singapore Expo for my CFA paper. I slept at about 2 a.m. the night b 4 and after my morning coffee, i can feel that my head was feeling a bit... light. Something like a helium balloon, but i managed to make my way to the MRT and along the way i saw many people in their Standard Chartered running attire. Its sad i cannot join them this year. Last year i joined and i was late! My race starts at 7.30 and i woke up at 7.15 at home! Kenna sai! I still went anyway and completed my 10k.m. then i met Andrew and we decided to put all the stuff back with a nice breakfast at Plaza Sing Cosisting of eggs, coffee, toasts, Chai Tao Quay and Quay Chup! OMG! It was so damn good! This is what makes a marathon worth running! Haha. :P

My marathon this year was somewhat different. But still its 6 hours long and its really mentally draining and i do mean REALLY! The CFA paper consisted 2 parts one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Each consisting of 120 MCQ questions. A lot of people turned up and it was honestly quite scary. Now i am just glad that the whole fiasco is over. This is one marathon i hope i dun ever need to run again.

Now for my holiday plans... i will be spending 2 weeks holiday back with SAF! So SAD! : '(
First exams then more exams and work and now ICT! Haiz.. I am really busy and tired. Hope this incamp will be a good time for me to recharge and relax a little. Meanwhile all u pple out there take care and see you soon! I am really lookign forward to the coming fun row and the aftrermath of the row ( which is also to put back what we burned, which incidentally is also the best part of dragonboating too!). Take care and see ya!
